Ingredients
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp butter at room temperature
- 2 tbsp condensed milk
- 1 cup fresh milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup crushed almonds
- A pinch of salt
Method:
- Sift the APF, salt , baking soda and baking powder together.
- Add the bread crumbs to it and mix well.
- In another bowl, add the powdered sugar and butter and whisk. When blended well add milk, condensed well . Mix together to get a smooth texture.
- Saving one tablespoon of almond for garnishing add the rest to the wet mix.
- Add sufficient water in a pressure pan and let the water heat up.
- While the water is heating fold in the dry ingredients into the cake mix .Pour the bater into a greased and dusted bowl
- Garnish with the remaining crushed almond and keep the cake pan in the steaming water.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let it steam on a low flame without any weight for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake rest in the pan for another 15 minutes and transfer to a rack to cool.
